Gender reveal scratch-off card: boy or girl, revealed online
No balloon to pop, no cake to cut: your family gets an animated card, scratches the screen with a finger and discovers the answer. “It's a girl!” rains pink confetti, “It's a boy!” blue confetti.
It's ideal for a long-distance gender reveal: everyone lives the suspense on their own phone, and you can ask them to open it during a video call to see their faces.
Free, no sign-up. Cards and photos delete themselves after 90 days.
How to make it, step by step
- Open the machine on “Gender reveal” with the button below.
- Pick the answer to scratch: “It's a girl!”, “It's a boy!”, “It's twins!”, “It's twin girls!”, “A girl and a boy!”… or write your own.
- Add the due date if you like (“Due in May”): it shows up with the answer.
- Type the name of the person who will scratch (Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Mike…).
- Pull the lever to pick the animation, then write your message.
- Send the link. The message gives nothing away: it only says “girl or boy? Scratch to find out”.
What happens when they scratch
After the envelope and the animation, a ticket appears: “Scratch to find out: girl or boy? 🎀”. They rub the screen with a finger (or the mouse on a computer). Once enough is scratched, the answer shows, the scene fires confetti in the matching color, then your message appears. For anyone who can't get the hang of scratching, a “Show me” button reveals everything at once.
A “💬 Reply” button then lets everyone send you their congratulations.
Keeping the secret until the right moment
- Don't want to know yourselves? Give the sealed envelope from the ultrasound to a friend: they make the card and send it to you too.
- For a reveal at the same time, post the link in the family group chat with a set time, or open it together on a video call.
- One card per person makes it more personal: each person's name appears in the animation.
Pink and blue are just a convention. If you prefer, write your own line (“Welcome, little Sam!”): the card then keeps multicolored confetti.
What comes next
If the grandparents-to-be don't know a baby is on the way yet, start with a scratch-off pregnancy announcement. For the party before the baby arrives, the save the date also comes in a “Baby shower” version.

Is it free?
